Welcome back to another exciting installment of RU Working Wednesday! Today we will be highlighting Rutgers Dining Services.
Altogether, Rutgers Dining Services operates five dining hall facilities across the New Brunswick/Piscataway campuses. They are committed to running a high quality food operation for the students, faculty, and staff of Rutgers University. This operation includes providing nutritional and delicious food, as well as offering a pleasant dining experience. Throughout the semester, Dining Services hosts various events and themed meals. On November 3rd, there will be a specially-themed meal to commemorate Rutgers University 250th anniversary! As in many other areas of the University, student employees play a critical role in the daily operations of the dining hall.
We had the pleasure of meeting three student employees: Brielle Mulvihill, Kevin Sanchez and Andras David. They are responsible for assisting the full time staff in food preparation, cleaning tables, and the overall maintenance of the Livingston Dining Commons after it has closed.
All three student workers enjoy the work environment and the opportunity to develop friendships with coworkers. Kevin especially enjoys helping the dining hall prepare for holiday meals. Well, that’s it for this week’s highlight! We will return next week with another exciting installment.
