IRS Data Retrieval Tool

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and U.S. Department of Education Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA) have announced the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on will be unavailable until extra security protections can be added to protect sensitive taxpayer data.
The IRS and the Department of Education recently released a joint statement regarding the outage. Students can still file the FAFSA and apply for financial aid.
If you did file your tax return, you can get your tax return transcript online:
- Visit irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript.
- Click "Get Transcript Online."
- Enter your personal information to verify your identity.
- Be sure to select the appropriate tax year.
Alternatively, you can submit a signed copy of your 2015 tax return transcript (1040).
