Veteran Tuition Credit Program
Veterans attending any approved educational institution may apply for the Veterans Tuition Credit Program. Under this program, partial reimbursement is provided to the institution to offset the cost of the veteran’s tuition.
Maximum reimbursement is $400 per year or $200 per semester for full-time students, and for part-time students, $100 per semester.
To qualify, the veteran must:
- have been on active duty between Dec.31, 1960, and May 7, 1975.
- have been a legal resident of New Jersey at the time of induction into the Armed Forces or service or for a period not less than one year prior to making application. If a veteran was not a New Jersey resident at time of induction or separation, veteran must provide documentation reflecting residency–copy of NJ income Tax Return, letter from Postmaster, home mortgage or apartment lease.
- be currently enrolled as a undergraduate or graduate student in an approved state approving agency course at an eligible academic, professional or vocational institution in the U.S.
- not owe a refund on a federal or state grant or not in default on a student loan.
